Welcome to StockMinds! This detailed guide will help you manage your inventory efficiently, track your
sales, and understand your business performance.
1. Getting Started
Registration & Login
- To Register: Open the app, click "Don't have an account? Register", enter a unique
username and password, and click "Create Account". You'll be logged in automatically.
- To Login: Simply enter your credentials on the main page.
2. The Dashboard Overview
The top section of your dashboard provides a real-time health check of your business:
- Total Inventory Value: The total cost value of all items currently sitting in your
shop (Assets).
- Total Sales Revenue: The total cash you have made from selling items (since you
started tracking).
- Est. Gross Profit: Calculated as
Sales Revenue - Cost of Goods Sold.
Green means you are making money; Red means a loss.
- Total Items: The number of unique product types you have in stock.
3. Managing Inventory
Adding a New Item
Click the + Add New Item button at the top right.
- Item Name: (e.g., "Milo Refill 1kg") - Required.
- SKU: A unique ID for the product - Required.
- Supplier: Who you bought it from.
- Cost Price: How much it cost you to buy one unit.
- Selling Price: How much you sell one unit for.
- Quantity: The number of units you are starting with.
- Low Stock Threshold: The quantity at which you want to be warned (rows turn red).
Viewing Item Details
To see when an item was created or check its details without editing:
- Click the View (Purple) button next to an item.
- Verify the "Added: [Date]" timestamp in the top right corner of the modal.
Editing & Deleting
- Edit: Click the Blue "Edit" button to change prices, names, or fix mistakes.
- Delete: Click the Red "Delete" button to remove an item permanently.
4. Daily Trading (Quick Actions)
Use the buttons directly in the inventory table for fast updates during business hours:
Selling an Item (The "-" Button)
When a customer buys something, click the Red (-)
button.
- Decreases stock quantity by 1.
- Increases your "Sold" count.
- Adds the Selling Price to your Total Revenue.
- Updates your Profit immediately.
Restocking (The "+" Button)
When you add stock to the shelf, click the Green (+)
button.
- Simply increases the available quantity by 1.
- Use the Edit modal for bulk updates if needed.
5. Visual Alerts
Low Stock Warning: If an item's quantity drops below the threshold you set, the entire
row will highlight in Red. This is your visual reminder to reorder immediately.
6. Troubleshooting
- User Exists Error: Usernames must be unique across the system. Try a different
name.
- Data Not Saving: If running locally, ensure your `data/` folder allows write
permissions.
